La Sallian Brother from Minnesota visits DLSU-D

Lasallian Brother William Mann, FSC D.Min. will be visiting De La Salle University Dasmarinas tomorrow, July 22 at 2PM at Tanghalang Julian Felipe. He is known to be the president of Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota – a private and Lasallian Catholic, comprehensive institution that is guided by De La Salle Christian Brothers. He is also the president of International Lasallian Universities Association. Brother William’s visit will be attended by the Lasallian Brothers, University Administration staff, Faculty, and selected student leaders.


PH e-Passport changes its appearance in 2016

Philippine e-Passport will have a new appearance and will also contain a better-quality of security features next year. The passport cover will emphasize the Philippine Eagle and wings of the Philippine cockatoo. National Anthem and the preamble of the 1987 Philippine Constitution will be seen in the next pages. One of the security features in the e-Passport will include the use of Latent image which will only be noticeable at a specific angle, the use of watermark, ultraviolet ink that can only be seen under UV light and the usage of laser perforation inside the passport’s pages. The new design was revealed during President Benigno Aquino III’s visit in the printing plant of Apo Production Unit at Lima Technology Center, Batangas.


More than 45 ambulances to distribute in Panay

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will distribute more than 45 ambulances today, July 21, to the municipalities and hospitals in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras and Iloilo to help provide immediate medical assistance to respective communities during emergencies. PCSO officials will be at Panay Island until Wednesday to open their new branch at Antique and to distribute ambulances to local government units and health facilities. Last week, 26 ambulances were already distributed from the PCSO Donation Program in some areas in Cavite such as Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Tagaytay, Imus, Noveleta, Carmona, Silang, General Trias, Amadeo, Indang, Magallanes, Naic, Mendez-Nuñez, Tanza, Alfonso, Rosario and General Mariano Alvarez.


Pure Force mobile app sends help to disaster-struck zones

Pure Force and Rescue Corporation launched a mobile application that allows to send immediate help to disaster-struck zones. Pure Force application can be easily downloaded to smartphones with its activation fee. To activate the app, users must register their mobile numbers to Pure Force’s website (www.pureforce505.com). On the other hand, the company owns nine fire trucks, five ambulances, two rubber boats, one amphibian vehicle, one rescue truck and one helicopter which they use to help anyone in need.


UP unveils new sport logo

The University of the Philippines (UP) showed the public their new sports logo for the upcoming 78th Season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) which they will be hosting. UP Diliman said in their Facebook page that their team created a main logo, a secondary logo, a tertiary logo and an internal logo.  The internal logo featured a maroon colored raised fist which included the university’s initials. The secondary logo featured the oblation which symbolizes the unity of their team. According to the post, these logo symbolize the university’s unique tradition and history.
