DWSU 95.9 Green FM La Salle Radio is marking its 10th year in Lasallian service by bringing back on air its former radio DJs, talk show hosts, newscasters, and reporters from August 24 to 28.
The first homecoming call for the La Salle Radio pool of announcers kicks off celebrations for the De La Salle University – Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) university radio’s 10th year anniversary this year.
The launching of the Green FM Alumni Homecoming campaign is anchored on the hashtag, #GalingGreenFM which refers to both where the alumni came from and the excellence of the station.
Aurora Quadra-Balibay, Green FM Station Manager, shared that it is the first time for the radio station to call back key personalities from the station’s ten years as a campus radio station.
“We are excited, challenged, and inspired that so many radio alumni hosts are coming back on air with us to mark the anniversary week,” said Quadra-Balibay.
Green FM was first launched as LS Radio in August 25, 2005 under the leadership of Communication Arts Department chair Rosanni Recreo-Sarile before being rebranded as Green FM La Salle Radio.
Former La Salle Radio DJs who became popular in the industry as Chico Loco and Maria Maldita will be going on air live from Dubai.
LS Radio Pioneer batch station manager, DJ King Spider of iFM, will return to join current disc jocks of the station.
LS Radio alumni radio announcer and news director Karen Keith will be anchoring a newscast live from her Macau Television location.
Green FM alumni radio reporter and news editor Darlene Basingan will be sending in her report live from her current UNTV base.
Green FM former radio news directors and chief announcers Allan Francisco and Jonathan Andal will both send in reports live from their DWIZ work stations.
More alumni announcers from Canada, Singapore and Manila will be heard back on the air for the special week-long event.
A grand homecoming is scheduled by October.
DWSU 95.9 Green FM has been operating as a community radio station serving the Lasallian community as well as the neighboring towns in Cavite, and now, addressing a worldwide audience through its online platform and social media accounts.
