DLSU-D USC, CCJE-SC hold airsoft competition within students’ week
The De La Salle University- Dasmariñas University Student Council (DLSU-D USC), together with the College of Criminal Justive Education Student Council (CCJESC), conducts the Airsoft Competition 2015 in the University Lake Park in line with the celebration of Students’ Week. The said competition is composed of eight teams composing of five persons who will fight with each other. The winning group will receive 5,000 (first place); 3,000 (second place); 2,000 (third place).
Cavite anti-dengue fund, running out!
The Cavite Provincial Health Office (PHO) is running out of fund intended for its fight and prevention of dengue cases in the province. According to PHO, the number of dengue cases is continuously growing and almost 12 million pesos of the health fund has already been spent for medicines, supplies and other operational expenses. However, the Philippine National Red Cross immediately helped by giving out blood donations, supplies and an emergency field hospital with 89 beds for patients.
LRT 1, LRT 2, MRT 3 to use beep cards starting Oct 3
The newly-launched “Tap and Go” ticketing system, commonly known as “beep card” can now be used in three elevated railways in Metro Manila on October 3. This will be available in Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines 1 and 2 and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3. According to the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC), the new system will help lessen the long lines of passenger.
Rising number of dengue cases causes Bulacan’s under state of calamity
Due to the rising number of dengue cases, the provincial board of Bulacan has declared the province under a state of calamity. Last September 29, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution declaring a state of calamity after the provincial health office listed an average of 300 dengue cases weekly since July. The declarant ion will enable the provincial government to use the calamity funds to contain the spread of the mosquito-borne disease. Bulacan has the most number of dengue cases among the provinces in Central Luzon. As of last Tuesday, it has 4,482 cases.
PH Gov’t posts P15 billion surplus this year
The Philippine Government has reached a surplus of P15 billion in August, indicating that more revenues were recorded earned than spent, according to the Bureau of Treasury. For the break down, revenues amounted to P176.7 billion, with a four percent increase, while disbursements totaled P161.6 billion having a 15 percent increase in growth rates. Broken down, revenues amounted to P176.7 billion, while disbursements totaled P161.6 billion. Both indicators recorded growth rates of four percent and 15 percent, respectively.
