Malacañang wants Filipinos to stay alert of Zika virus

The palace is asking Filipinos to be vigilant amid the spreading Zika virus in Latin America as the government places measures against the disease. The Department of Health (DOH) said the Philippines remains free of the Zika virus, although it had one documented case of the mosquito-borne disease four years ago.

 

At least 37 found dead as boat of refugees sinks off Turkey

The Turkish coastguard recovered on Saturday the bodies of women and children washed up on a beach after another migrant boat sank while trying to reach Europe. The incident leaves at least 37 refugees dead including children.

 

Oil Companies Rollback LPG Prices

Oil companies had a price rollback of its LPG products at 6:00 earlier this morning. Eastern Petroleum announced a rollback ahead of other oil companies, cutting back ₱3.36 per kilogram or ₱36.96 per 11-kilogram tank.

 

Former NEDA chief dies at 67

Former National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) director general and socioeconomic planning secretary Cayetano Paderanga Jr. passed away on Friday, January 27.
