Bike Lanes for Highways
Pwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) party-list request the Congress to strengthen a law to provide a“Right of Way” for bicycle riders and other non-motorized transport system with the 1.5 to 2 meters of the right side of all roads at Highways except the toll-regulated expressway.
According to PBA Spokesman Jericho Nograles, the only problem in providing the Bike Lanes is the price and its maintenance. Instead of finding a way to get a fund for the said project in the bike lanes it should be appropriate to automatically put the “Bike or non-motorized lane” in all the roads to avoid any special marker.
Intramuros informal settlers relocation
Intramuros Administration proclaimed that they will provide P410 million budget this 2016 to be able to relocate the 1,700 informal settler families in Intramuros, Manila.
According to IA Administrator Marco Sardillo III, they will be providing 200 to 3000 million to be able to give housing to the residents of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines, located in front of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts; the ones in the compound of “maisan” and “plastikan”, at “Banana Island” and at the Pagong Real Property.
All of these will be relocated at Bacoor, Cavite and will build a National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) of house that will cost P450,000 each. The agency will lend the half of the whole amount while IA will pay for the half as its subsidy.
25 Calabarzon towns, cities on election watchlist
Around 25 towns and cities in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) are included in the watchlist of the police for the May elections due to intense political rivalry.
According to Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, Deputy Regional Director for police operation in Calabarzon, the list of towns and cities are as follows:
- General Trias
- Trece Martires
- San Pedro
- General Nakar
- Padre Garcia
- Santo Tomas
Pasig River Ferry launches a mobile application for passengers
The Pasig river ferry service launched a mobile app for passengers last Tuesday. The application was created by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA in cooperation Rising Tide Developers.
The application can be downloaded on smartphones and android users. It is used to find the schedule of the ferry service just like its “estimated time of arrival” or ETA, “Departure of arrival” or DTA, route, fees, stations, and feeds from the social media like twitter, facebook and viber.
Fajardo to rest for weeks after championship
Two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beermen will be getting rest after their championship game in the season finale of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
He was advised to rest for two to three weeks after he suffered a knee injury in game six of the semi-final series against Rain or Shine.
“Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that I got injured,” Fajardo told PBA.ph. “We were down 0-3 and we ended up making history.”
This recent triumph of San Miguel Beermen marked their 22nd championship of the team where Fajardo scored 21 points and 15 rebounds.
The new season of PBA Commissioner’s Cup will open on Wednesday, February 10.
