Three dead, two wounded in Cavite City shooting incident
Three men were killed while two others were wounded in a shooting incident in Cavite City on Saturday, March 12.
The victims were identified as Barry Barzaga and Carvin Enriquez who were standing at the corner of Yagit street and Felipe Boulevard in Barangay Caridad when they were shot by a man in a sport utility vehicle.
The other victim was Amador Labrica who was in a tricycle along with Anna Carolina and Diesamine Custodio when they were hit by stray bullets.
The Philippine Star reported that Labrica died wile being treated at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila, where Carolina and Custodio were also taken for treatment.
The report added that police have yet to determine the motive for the shooting.
Oil companies to increase Diesel, Kerosene prices
Another oil price hike is set for possible implementation today, amounting to more than P1 contrary to the consecutive price reduction of petrol products.
Approximately P1.40 to P1.65 per liter of the Gasoline will be the increase, while P1.20 up to P1.35 will be added in the price of Diesel, and P1.15 for the Kerosene.
Sotto tops SWS survey in senatorial race
Sen. Tito Sotto remained the top contender of the senatorial race after he got 53 percent of votes in the latest pre-election survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS).
With 46 percent of votes, he was followed by former senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson ,then Senate President Frank Drilon who got 44 percent in the BusinessWorld-SWS Pre-election Survey conducted last March 4 to 7.
Sotto’s March rating was one percent above his 52 percent showing in the February 5 to 7 SWS poll. With 49 percent, Lacson was also in second place last month.
Tied in fourth place in the survey on March are Sen. Ralph Recto and former senator and food security presidential assistant Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan at 43 percent.
GMA News reported the BusinessWorld-SWS Pre-election Survey was conducted among 1,800 validated voters. The survey has a ±2-point sampling error margin.
Mexican farmer builds aztec pyramid in dessert along Mexico-U.S border
A Mexican farmer Raymundo Corona built a 22 feet aztec pyramid in the dessert along the Mexico-U.S border. He has claimed to be instructed by an alien named Herulayka.
According to him, Herulayka visited them three decades ago and promised that they will be saved when the time comes.
He also described the alien as a tall an with a honey brown colored eyes and white hair.
Poe tops newest SWS presidential survey
Senator Grace Poe emerged as the top presidential contender in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) Survey conducted on March 4 to 7.
Poe got 27 percent which was three points higher than her previous score in February.
Meanwhile, Vice President Jejomar Binay slid down to the second spot with 24% five points lower than his previous gain.
He was followed by former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas who ranked third with 22%, improving five points from the preceding February survey.
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte got 21% points, lowering from his previous 24% while Sen. Miriam Defensor- Santiago got the lowest spot with four percent.
