De La Salle University-Dasmariñas conducts its Lasallian Youth Summit with the theme, “AMPLIFY: A Millenial Purpose: Leading and Integration for the Youth” together with reputable guest speakers, leaders, and students at the Ugnayang Lasalle of DLSU-D.
Vice Chancellor for Academics and Research, Dr. Marco S. Saez, shares three things regarding the importance of this year’s LYS 2018; “Let us use the intelligence and achievements to make difference in this society— that amplification will make the society better.”
Saez added that Lasallians need to listen to one another and to refrain themselves from not considering other people’s opinion. “It would be hard if all us would keep on talking and shouting at the same time because no one would be able to understand each other.”
One of the keynote speakers, Mr. Brent Reodica, founder of Team Aguhon starts his talk by educating the students about developing their influence, strengthening their values and working towards their purpose as leader. Furthermore, Mr. Venchito Tampon, an entrepreneur and youth advocate shares the importance of having a good mindset by choosing commitment over compliance and by building the credibility consistently. Lastly, Mr. Marlon Molmisa elaborates the struggles encountered by millennial leaders.
Lasallian Youth Summit is an annual event that seeks to empower student leadership and to celebrate the contribution of student leaders in the society. Moreover, it aims to ignite the passion of student leaders to contribute significant changes to their campus and community.
In conjunction with LYS, KTS XIX: Upsurge will take place in the afternoon. Well-known artists such as December Avenue, Callalily, Ben&Ben, and IV of Spades are expected to perform in the event.
